Pokémon GO is an augmented reality mobile game operated by Scopely Explore in collaboration with The Pokémon Company. The core loop involves walking to find Pokémon, spinning PokéStops for items, battling in Gyms, and completing research tasks. The next major event is Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale on September 5 and 6. Its lead-in begins August 31 and culminates in Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y Super Mega Raids, plus paths built around Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie. The Twilight Trails season then begins September 8.
The game is celebrating both ten years of Pokémon GO and the thirtieth anniversary of the wider Pokémon franchise in 2026.
