Overview

Tarisland is a free-to-play cross-platform MMORPG developed and published by Tencent Games. Released globally in June 2024 for PC, iOS, and Android, it draws clear design inspiration from classic Western MMORPGs, particularly World of Warcraft, while building a new original fantasy setting.

Set in the world of Tarisland, the game follows a conflict between civilisations as an ancient evil resurfaces. The world features multiple distinct continents, each with a defined biome and faction identity.

Class System

Tarisland offers twelve classes at launch, each with dual specialisation paths that determine their role and playstyle. Classes include Warrior (Tank/Damage), Paladin (Heal/Tank), Ranger (Damage), Mage (Damage), Priest (Heal/Damage), Bard (Heal/Support), Barbarian Fighter (Damage), Shadow Swordsman (Damage), Reaper (Damage), Phantom Necromancer (Damage), Insectoid Queen (Tank/Support), and Sand Bard.

The dual spec system allows switching between two specialisations freely outside of combat, enabling the same character to tank and DPS without rerolling.

Dungeons and Raids

Tarisland launched with a full suite of 5-player dungeons and multi-boss raids at multiple difficulty tiers. The raid design follows a traditional format of role-based boss mechanics requiring tank swap coordination, healer throughput management, and DPS execution checks.

Difficulty tiers escalate from Normal through Heroic to Nightmare, with the highest tier requiring optimised gear and practised team coordination. Weekly lockouts and loot distribution follow a similar model to classic WoW raid design.

Cross-Platform Play

Full cross-platform progression and multiplayer between PC and mobile is a core feature. Character data syncs between platforms, and all endgame content including raids is accessible on both mobile and PC. This allows players to continue progression on mobile while away from their desktop.

Tips for New Players

• Complete the main story quests to unlock dungeons and the raid finder. They also provide the best early gear rewards.
• Choose your dual spec wisely based on your preferred role. One DPS spec and one group utility spec (heal or tank) maximises your flexibility for group content.
• Do daily quests and reputation grinds consistently. Faction reputation unlocks gear upgrades that bypass dungeon RNG.
• Join a guild before attempting Heroic or Nightmare raids. PUG groups clear Normal; harder difficulties need organised communication.
• On mobile, adjust the combat assist settings to your comfort level. Full manual control is available but optional.
