The displayed performance rating helps with eligibility, but wet roads, dirt, tire compound, assists, gearing, and the driver’s familiarity with a car can matter as much as its headline number.
Later seasons deliberately broadened the lifestyle side. Car Delivery missions reward clean transport of valuable vehicles; Taxi work scores a passenger journey; Navigation removes normal GPS guidance; and Detective contracts ask players to inspect clues and locate a target. The Casino includes slot machines, Poker, exclusive shops, cosmetics, and cars. Casino chips can be purchased with Solar Coins but cannot be converted back, and the entire feature is disabled in countries where local restrictions apply.
The Solar Hotel, Selene hub, dealerships, workshops, clan headquarters, and Casino are walkable social spaces. Players can meet other avatars, inspect vehicles, use proximity voice chat, group for activities, and take photographs. Store listings support up to 16 online participants, although open-world sessions, groups, race lobbies, and social hubs have their own limits. Solo-labelled activities use AI or individual objectives but still connect to the live servers.
Season 7 is scheduled for September 2, 2026. Its six-car lineup includes the Mazda RX-7 Series 6 Type R in a dealership; Nissan 370Z Nismo, Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec II, and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV through the Solar Pass; plus BMW M4 GT3 EVO and Volkswagen Beetle Buggy variants in the Online Store. The new Live tab organizes daily Exploration, Racing, and Lifestyle tasks, weekly challenges, and Live Event goals so seasonal progress is not limited to repeating races.
Some announced features are not part of the day-one Season 7 update. New chase-camera options and eight-player groups were targeted for its mid-season patch. The Official Racing Center was delayed while KT Racing prioritizes housing for Season 8. Houses, customizable garages, real-estate agencies, and the long-term offline solution should therefore be treated as future plans, not current reasons to buy. Nacon has said offline preservation is a major project expected to take more than a year.
Solar Crown cannot currently be played offline. Steam also requires a MyNacon account linked to the platform account. There is no cross-play between Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, and regional databases store separate progression. Friends must use the same platform and connect to the same regional service; forcing a region change can start separate progress rather than moving an existing save.
