Dawntrail is the fifth major expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, released in June 2024. It takes the Warrior of Light to the New World of Tural, a land inspired by Mesoamerican and Pacific Island cultures. Dawntrail follows the conclusion of the Hydaelyn-Zodiark saga and begins an entirely new narrative arc centered on the tournament of the Rite of Succession.
The expansion raised the level cap to 100, introduced two new jobs (Viper and Pictomancer), and added a wealth of endgame content including the Arcadion raid series and Cosmic Exploration.
Viper is a melee DPS job that dual-wields swords and combines them into a two-handed blade for powerful finisher combos. Pictomancer is a ranged magical DPS that paints creatures, landscapes, and weapons on a canvas to unleash colourful attacks. Both jobs start at level 80.
Patch 7.5, Trail to the Heavens, launched on April 28, 2026 with The Clyteum dungeon, the Enuo trial, the final Echoes of Vana'diel alliance raid, and expanded housing furnishing limits. Patch 7.55 followed on July 28 with the Occult Crescent: North Horn and the conclusion of the Phantom Weapons series. Beastmaster is announced for Patch 7.56.
Dawntrail's endgame revolves around the Arcadion raid series, Cosmic Exploration, the Occult Crescent, Phantom Weapons, and continued Hildibrand quests. The free trial now reaches the end of Shadowbringers and level 80.
Square Enix has not announced the title or release date of the expansion after Dawntrail, so this guide does not present community predictions as a confirmed schedule.
