Laryen is a free-to-play 2.5D isometric sci-fi MMORPG from Withcenter, Inc., a small studio whose store listings name developer Jaeho Song. It launched on iOS on June 22, 2026, then reached Windows and Mac through Steam on September 21, 2026. It is also available on Android and as a direct macOS download.
The story is set in 2026, after a rogue AI turns on the world’s cities. You play a Reclaimer, a human survivor turned cyborg, hunting robots and drones through cities modeled on real places across South Asia, Southeast Asia, Korea, and the United States. Its hook is Laria, an optional AI companion you can talk to by voice or text.
59 combat zones cover places inspired by New Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Lahore, the Hunza Valley, Dhaka, Naypyidaw, Manila, Busan, and Washington, D.C., each with its own enemy levels and rewards.
Robots charge, kite, swarm, ambush, or guard stronger units. The developer says a deterministic Director AI adjusts enemy pressure based on your health, movement, and skill cooldowns.
Ask Laria about monsters, hunting grounds, gear, or drops by voice or text. Her answers come from an AI language model grounded in the game’s own data, and using her is optional.
The main world is cooperative: parties share experience, and players trade gear one-on-one. Eligible characters can also enter PvP dungeon areas, where other players become the threat.
On Windows, install from Steam, which signs you in automatically. Steam also lists a Mac version for macOS 11 or later. The separate macOS download from the official site needs an Apple Silicon Mac on macOS 13 or later, and because the build is unsigned, you must right-click the app and choose Open the first time.
On phones, the developer recommends an iPhone 12 or later on iOS 16, or an Android 11 device with a Snapdragon 778G or Google Tensor G2 chip or better. Every version is online-only.
Steam lists seven languages with full voice audio, including Hindi, Urdu, and Bangla alongside English, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese, which fits the game’s South Asian settings.
Move with WASD or the on-screen joystick, or tap the map to walk there automatically. Auto-attack finds nearby enemies for you, but there is no auto-hunt: you still choose where to fight and when to move on.
Steam says its version has no play-time limit, play-time pass, or subscription, but it does list in-app purchases. The App Store shows what those are: potion bundles for $1.99, a “Laryen Unlimited” item for $0.99, and complete equipment sets, including the Quantum Set at $99.99 and the Geminian Set at $199.99.
Because full gear sets are sold for real money, players who pay can get stronger equipment faster than those who hunt for drops. Keep that in mind if you plan to spend time in the PvP dungeons.
AI is part of how Laryen is built as well as its theme. Laria’s replies are generated live by a language model, and she only answers questions about the game. Steam’s disclosure also says some store and marketing art was made with generative AI tools and reviewed by the team.
The official site goes further. It describes an art pipeline that uses open image models such as FLUX, Qwen-Image, and HunyuanImage with paint-over, and a daily development cycle run by a human and an AI working as one team.
A microphone is optional and only used to talk to Laria. There is no voice chat between players.
The iOS version history shows frequent updates since June. It raised the level cap to 120 on July 23, added in-app purchases on July 28, and added three more towns with teleports on July 30. The Busan dungeon arrived on August 8, and a player item exchange market followed on August 10.
More display languages and repeated world redesigns came through August and September. The Steam page had no user reviews as of September 28, 2026, and the App Store listing had no ratings yet, so there is little public player feedback so far.
At 1 to 2 GB on PC and able to run on integrated graphics, Laryen is a very small install for an online RPG.
