Mortal Online 2 is the long awaited sequel to Star Vault’s long running first person sandbox MMORPG. Explore a massive open sandbox world...
Mortal Online 2 is a first-person, full-loot sandbox MMORPG developed and published by Star Vault AB, released in January 2022. It is the direct sequel to Mortal Online, refining and expanding the vision of a truly open and unforgiving player-driven world with improved visuals, performance, and expanded systems.
The game is set on the continent of Nave, a persistent world where players must build their skills, gather resources, craft their own gear, and survive in an environment where every interaction carries real stakes. Death means losing everything you carry to whoever killed you.
Mortal Online 2 operates on a full-loot ruleset across the entire world. When a player dies, all equipped items and inventory contents are accessible to the killer or any nearby scavenger. This single rule defines everything about how players approach the game: from the quality of gear they risk carrying, to the routes they choose to travel, to whom they choose to trust.
Combat is first-person and manual, relying on aimed swings, blocks, stabs, and mounted attacks rather than ability queues. Weapon reach, swing arcs, and stamina management are all critical. Mounted combat is a defining feature, with horses and other rideable creatures giving significant tactical advantages in open-field encounters.
There are no predefined classes in Mortal Online 2. Characters are built by allocating attribute points and learning skills through use and training. Warriors who specialize in heavy armour and two-handed swords play completely differently from mounted archers or magic-wielding mages.
Magic is divided into schools including Ecumenical (elemental spells), Spiritism (spirit-based abilities), and Mentalism (mind-affecting techniques). Combining combat skills with magic is possible but requires significant investment. Each build requires deliberate choices because the skill cap prevents mastering everything on a single character.
Almost every item in the game is player-crafted. Mining ore, forging steel, selecting the right material composition for a blade, and then producing a weapon that reflects your crafting skill level is the foundation of the economy. Different materials have different weight, durability, and damage properties, making crafting a technical discipline in itself.
Players can build homes, establish player-run towns with their own vendors and guards, and create economic hubs in the open world. Guilds that control key resource areas gain real economic power, making territorial conflict meaningful beyond just PvP prestige.
Players looking for a similar hardcore full-loot experience may also explore Mortal Online, the original game that established the formula, or Albion Online for a top-down full-loot sandbox with a larger player base.
