Overview

Ragnarok M: Eternal Love is a free-to-play 3D mobile MMORPG developed and published by Gravity and its subsidiaries, based on the original Ragnarok Online. Released in China in 2017 and launching in Southeast Asia and globally in 2018, it reimagines the classic 2D MMORPG with 3D graphics while preserving the open-world exploration, class system, and social features that defined the original.

The game is set in the same world of Midgard, featuring familiar towns, monsters, and landmarks from the original Ragnarok Online reconstructed in a chibi-style 3D aesthetic.

Class System

Ragnarok M: Eternal Love follows the classic Ragnarok class advancement structure. Players start as a Novice and advance through a three-tier promotion system. First classes include Swordsman, Thief, Mage, Archer, Acolyte, and Merchant. These advance into second classes (Knight, Assassin, Wizard, Hunter, Priest, Blacksmith, etc.) and eventually to third-job tiers with further specialisation paths.

The breadth of the class tree preserves the complexity and variety that longtime Ragnarok fans expect, while the 3D format makes the abilities and animations more visually expressive than the original's sprite-based combat.

Adventure Book and Pet System

The Adventure Book tracks kills, explorations, and collections. Completing entries earns permanent stat bonuses that compound significantly over time, making thorough exploration genuinely rewarding beyond the surface level.

Pets can be hatched from monster-dropped eggs and provide passive buffs, auto-looting, and cosmetic companionship. Specific pets have special abilities tied to their monster type and can be levelled and evolved.

Economic Systems

Like the original Ragnarok Online, player trading is core to the experience. The Exchange marketplace allows players to buy and sell items freely, and crafting-oriented classes like Blacksmith and Alchemist fill an economic role rather than just a combat one.

Zeny management, resource farming efficiency, and market awareness are skills as relevant as combat builds for progression-focused players.

Players who enjoy Ragnarok M's mobile reimagining of the classic formula may also explore Ragnarok Online on PC for the original experience, or Ragnarok Origin for another mobile adaptation.
